Illustrating Nature
In this sixth-grade unit, students refined their drawing and illustration skills through a series of engaging activities. They explored the fascinating connections between literature and visual representation, delving into the ways in which art can bring nature to life.
Students gained a deeper understanding of non-verbal communication and the essential elements of art and design. These foundational skills equipped them to effectively convey ideas and emotions through their artwork.
To enhance their illustration abilities, students practiced a variety of drawing techniques. They also experimented with lino printing as a medium for illustrating nature, discovering the unique qualities and possibilities of this technique.
