Monument Design

In this unit, students embarked on a journey to design monuments inspired by significant historical events. By immersing themselves in historical research and exploring the elements of monument design, students created meaningful tributes to the past.

Students began by selecting a historical event that resonated with them. They conducted in-depth research on the event, gathering information about the context, key figures, and lasting impact. With this knowledge, students brainstormed monument concepts that effectively commemorated the event and conveyed its significance.

Using their research as a foundation, students designed their monuments, considering factors such as location, materials, symbolism, and scale. They explored different artistic styles and architectural techniques to create unique and impactful designs.

Throughout the unit, students collaborated with their peers, sharing ideas and providing feedback. They also learned about the historical and cultural significance of monuments and their role in shaping public memory.

By the end of this unit, students had developed a deep appreciation for history and the power of monuments to commemorate and inspire. They had also honed their design skills and gained valuable experience in collaborative projects.
